your disks should be like the quorum, visible/accessible from both nodes
setup your D:\ and E:\ same way you setup your Quorum

Hi Edwin,is
Thanks again for your informative reply....
Actually I am trying this A/A setup on MS Virutal Server 2005, because we
don't want to disturb our A/P setup which is on real/raw machines.
Successfully setup a A/A in Virutal server.. but only issue I am comming
across is, when ever there is a fail in setup, the group on failed machine
sucessfully switching to the only active machine, but the disk in groupshows
failed... What could be the problem?for
Here are the disks I used in the setup:
Node1
C:\ --- Operating System -- IDE
D:\ --- Shared ---- SCSI 1 ID 0
SCSI Drives: SCSI Adapter ID 6 and SCSI Adapater ID 7 (both are checked
clustering)for
Node2
C:\ --- Operating System -- IDE
E:\ --- Shared ---- SCSI 1 ID 0
SCSI Drives: SCSI Adapter ID 7 and SCSI Adapater ID 6 (both are checked
clustering)application
Quorum Disk: SCSI 0 ID 0 on Node 1
SCSI 0 ID 0 on Node 2
Did I do something wrong in above setup?

Thanks,

I did go through few docs in ms site and other forums, but got into
confusion when people say A/A is not recomended and most of them speak
abt SQL server which can run in multiple instances. Ours is an
youwhich can't run in multiple instances on same machine, So I was asking
ourfor every detail involved with A/A. Now I got into a conclusion that
limited toapplication may not work in A/A, hope I am correct?
If your application cannot run in multiple instances then you are
same"A/P" in a two node setup.
You can off-course do a 3 node "A/A/P" or "N+1" setup, and set the
"affinity". Setting the AntiAffinityClassNames ensures that no two the
virtualapplications are running on the same node. See more about this here :
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/296799
For instance, Exchange is using this to ensure that no two Exchange
workservers are running on the same node:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124140.aspx
So, a 3 node "N+1" configuration or a more-node "N+1" or "N+2" might
andfor your application.
(e.g the following could work A/A/A/P, A/A/A/A/P/P)
I realize that these are more advanced configurations, so get practice
weexperience first.
Also, I find it always useful to have a "practice-cluster" in a Virtual
Machine, so build yourself a cluster using Microsoft Virtual Server or
VMWare Server, and you can practice away without doing "harm" to your
official production/test equipment/setup.
Good Luck with Clustering, and if you have a problem, post it here and
will try to help you out.
Rgds,
Edwin.
