Performance questions really depend on the intended use, user load and
expectations for performance.

gotcha...here's my scenario. I have a 6 load-balanced webservers (externally
loadbalanced), with SQL2005 dB behind them. The dB servers prolly will not
be tasked very heavily (most of the time they are pretty much idling), and
I'm looking for high-availability primarily. This is the only hardware on
the subnet. The LB'd webservers are there to handle infrequent traffic
spikes (very infrequent).
I've been reading, reading, reading about clustering + iSCSI, and see that
it's recommended to isolate the NAS and clustered servers on their own
switch to isolate them from all other traffic. I can do that, but I was
hoping to allow the LB webservers to have access to the NAS as well. Is that
problematic?
If so, I can go the three-NIC configuration for the clustered SQL servers
(in other words, private NAS network, heartbeat, and public network with
webservers), but I was hoping to be able to share the NAS with the
webservers as well.
Any observations/recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
