Cluster IP no reply - Additional IPs reply ok

Hello
This is so weird. My ISP has configured static ARP mappings for our cluster
IPs to the cluster MAC address.
When we set-up the cluster as unicast we get a reply to ping from all the
additional cluster IPs but not the main cluster IP.
When we set-up the cluster as multicast we get a reply to ping from the
cluster IP but none of the additional IPs.
This surely indicates that the static arp mappings are set-up correctly, so
what else could be causing this?
From the local network all IPs respond to pings.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
Also - when selecting IGMP with multicast you get a warning telling you to
read the documentation about implications. I have tried to find out what it
means by this and apart from the cluster being assigned a different MAC,
nothing else is apparent. It mentions 224 - 239 IP addresses but I can't
see where these come in to play or what the significance of this is.
Thanks and regards
David
