The good news is, we have built-in functionality to deal with this scenario in windows Server 2008 Failover Clustering - no more cluster Recovery Tool.

Thanks Ryan,
The Cluster Recovery tool did the trick. Too bad its only documented as a recovery tool. Maybe you can use your MVP status to have the documentation/KB articles updated to reflect that maybe you need to move the data from one array to another without rebuilding the cluster. After all, what do companies do when they upgrade their drive arrays with newer equipment? In my case, I just present the new LUNs, move the data, reconfigure per the recovery tool, and all is good.

I think your assessment is right, the Cluster service depends on Disk Signatures that you need to fix. more here:

I am trying to figure out the best way to move data drives from one storage array to another. I have found that I can copy the data, go into Disk Management, reassign drive letters and everything works. The only problem I am having is when I unpresent the old drives, my cluster resources go offline.
It appears that the Cluster service is still using the old drives, although my apps are writng to the new ones. Obviously my apps must be using the drive letter as a point of reference whereas cluster is using a Disk ID of somesort.
Is there a way to transfer the old disk IDs to the new drives?
