Re: Broken Printer/Print Share

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

Have you checked the wire to ensure it is not indeed already shared?

Next, clean out WINS, DNS, and your cache for the name. Then try a ping test
to it, it should fail the test and the name resolution!

We upgraded our Active/Passive print cluster to SP2 over the weekend. It
seems that while doing it, one of the printers lost some sort of
connection
to the share that was created. For instance, after connecting to
\\print\printers and deleting the printer, the share name is still listed
in
\\prnt where you can connect. The problem is when going back to
\\prnt\printers and recreating the printer, you can't share it with the
same
name due to the share already existing. Is there a way (in the registry I
assume) that we can manually remove this share listed on \\print? Thanks
in
advance!
