I have two servers in the cluster, both of which is using the windows
server 2003. Each of servers has two network cards, one is for process
the request from clients, the other one is for communicate one
another. I configure the Network Load Balancing with Multicast IGMP.
Server 1 uses the *.*.*.14 for processing the requests, and server 2
users the *.*.*.15, and virtal IP address for clients to access is
*.*.*.16.
Now the problem clients cannot access to the cluster through *.*.*.16,
but they can directly access to the *.*.*.14 and *.*.*.15.
Do I need to set up the multicast address? I cannot find any place to
sign the multicast address. Where to input the multicast address?
It goes in the cluster tab of the NLB properties.
BTW, it still might not work depending upon your network hardware and its ability to support multicasting of non-multicast IP addresses. You will probably want to switch to Unicast since you have two NICs.
