Just ensure a domain account is created. During the cluster setup, provide the domain account when asked for it. Cluster takes care of adding it to the local admins group. Whenever referencing the domain account, do not use UPN format and always use the NetBIOS format for the domain, not the 'dotted' format.

When creating Windows Cluster, we should specify an account for the
cluster service. In my test environment, active directory controller
and DNS server are on the same server : adsvr.contoso.org, and I
joined two computer node1 and node2 to domain contoso.org. Before I
create a test cluster on node1, I first created a domain user
sqlcluster, and on onde1 I add user contoso.org\sqlcluster to the
Adminstrators Group. Then I create the test cluster sqlcluster on
node1, and specify the user "sqlcluster " for cluster service account,
but when the wizard creating the cluster, it says "Invalid user name
or password is wrong", I am sure the password is correct, and when
using contoso.org\sqlcluster as the account name , I get another error
message , which is in Chinese, saying the account/password is not
correct.
Can you tell me how should I create and configure the service account,
or show me a step by step example, thanks.
