Do I need a Cluster Group for each instance?

Yes it does. Instance = SQL Server, it has its own master, model, msdb, and
user databases.

I'm am not sure at this time, does an instance count as another SQL
Server when trying to connect to a database?

Building a 4 node Windows 2003 cluster for SQL. Have Luns on SAN
carved out for 3 Data, 3 Log volumes and 1 Quorum volume. Do I need to
setup a group for each (3) active nodes with a IP and Network Name
resource in each? will this look to the user as three different
servers due to three different network names?
thanks in advance
