Re: Print Server Cluster with W2K3 Ent Server

So are you teaming the NICs or are you going to do some sort of goofy layer
3 based load balancing of the two NICs like if this was a mainframe or what?

Yes my thoughts exactly on the priv NIC, the Pub is for redundancy. I was
just looking for a 2nd opinion. What I am most concerned with is the
active/active versus active/passive thoughts?
Thanks for your reply!

You can safely team (Fault Tolerant mode) the public NICs. You can not do
the same for the private, what you can do is use 2 different subnets for
the
heartbeat traffic, though that is really a waste.

redundancy for the public network I would also consider redundancy for
the
private network

I have a 2 node cluster and I want to know any pros and cons about
active/active versus active/passive for a print server cluster. Any
comments
or suggestions?
Also I am thinking about 3 nics, 2 Public and 1 Private.

Thanks!
