You assume incorrectly. Access Logix is what the Clariion uses to provide
LUN masking to the hosts. If you present a LUN to multiple hosts without
MSCS, this will cause NTFS file system corruption.

I'm assuming this would solve that issue -http://www.dell.com/content/topics/global.aspx/alliances/en/emc_accesslogix?c=us&cs=555&l=en&s=biz ?
can

If you mean can you assign the same LUN from the CX300 to all your NLB
nodes, no, there's nothing in NLB that regulates exclusive access to a
disk. You'd have to have them all go through something like a file share
server or NAS gateway (as you mention) first. Assuming the NAS gateway
storagehandle which node reads and writes to the disk.

Hi,
Just a quick question. We are looking at implementing an IIS6.0 NLB
cluster and would like the servers to access a designated area of
on a Dell CX300 SAN. My question is can the web servers be directly
connected to the SAN and access the files all together or do I need to
implement a NAS gateway to the SAN for them to connect to first?
Thanks,Ed.
