Worthless is not the wording I would use, it is not optimal. IIS
clustering is gone in Longhorn. IIS is made for NLB, but neither will it
help you sync the data. Have your thought about having the data on DFS?
shared between the NLBed nodes?
Or redirect the IIS servers to content hosted on a clustered file server.
