Re: Disk failure and event id 1146

Dear Franco,

I did see that, and I am not sure about what error 5 is. It could be an
"ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED" but I have to admit; I am not sure. You might want to
double check your security on the disks, just to be sure. The account
cluster service is running under need to be in the Local Admin group of both
nodes, and the Local Admin group need all rights/privs to the disks.

Locking of the volume failed, look at any monitoring software, such as
NetIQ, CA, HP Insight, and others. Disable this software to eliminate them
from your troubleshooting effort.

rgds,
edwin.

Thank you very much for your quick reply end for suggestions.
I don't know if you notice that in the cluster log there is also this
statement:

00000918.000016f0::2007/01/05-17:09:30.516 WARN Physical Disk <Disk U:>:
Offline, Locking volume failed, error 5.

Any other ideas?

Franco
