Re: MSCS Cluster with HP MSA1510i - iSCSI Cluster

FYI, this question is best directed towards your hardware vendor. It's the
hardware vendor's responsibility to qualify this configuration...it's not
Microsoft's responsibility to qualify hardware vendor's configurations. You
can push HP to get your configuration WHQL qualified or you can try to run
through the tests yourself (and submit the appropriate fee).

Rodney,
Thanks for the reply, I guess I wanted to know if MS will officially
support it through Product Support Servcies, I thought a cluster needed
to be WHQL approved before being supported by MS, am I wrong there? I
don't know if I can deploy a cluster with the HP MSA1510i iSCSI box and
have Microsoft Product Support Services backing.
As the FAQ states:
Q. Do you have an interim support policy for customers using iSCSI with
Server Clusters today?
A. Yes, customers with iSCSI Windows Server 2003 cluster environments
(up to eight nodes) will be supported as a cluster configuration prior
to submission to the Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL) and being
listed on the Windows Server Catalog. This grace period will last until
January 1, 2007. Support is contingent on the following provisions:
· Customers must contact their vendor to ensure that the vendor has
conducted internal testing to validate cluster compatibility and plans
to submit the cluster configuration for qualification before the
January 2007 deadline expires. This is required for support beyond the
expiry date.
· Customers must be running Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1.
· Solutions must leverage the Microsoft iSCSI Software Initiator used
in conjunction with a logoed network interface card (NIC). Solutions
that leverage an iSCSI HBA do not apply for the interim support policy;
they must be Hardware Compatibility Test (HCT) qualified and listed on
the Windows Server Catalog.

Hello,
Will it be supported in the future, by Microsoft, to install a Windows
Server 2003 Cluster (MSCS) with an HP MSA1510i and 2 HP Proliant DL380
servers?
