If anyone can assist, please assist.
Hello,
I currently have 2 Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Sp1 Servers setup in
a Network Load Balanced cluster. When I try to map a drive or type
\\servername from Run, I get the following message:
You were not connected because a duplicate name exists on the network.
Go to System in Control Panel to change the computer name and try
again.
I have the following setup:
Servers:
ServerA.domain.local 10.5.5.2
ServerB.domain.local 10.5.5.3
Both are configured using NLB Manager with the following:
VirServer.domain.local 10.5.5.4
The following is true:
Both servers have Data replication setup to an identical share on the
same Volume letter.
VirServer has been added to DNS and WINS servers.
I can ping VirServer by name and IP address from a client machine
When I try to browse to it by name \\VirServer, I get the above stated
error message.
I can however browse to \\10.5.5.4 successfully.
Problem is, I need to be able to mape to it by FQDN or NetBIOS.
If anyone can assist me with this issue, I would be grateful.
I have read the boards, but nothing really addresses the problem that I
am having.
Sincerely,
Scott
