Hi Nathan,
As John and Russ mentioned, the cheapest way to learn about Exchange 2003
since you don't have the budget for hardware is to use Virtual Server 2005
R2. Here are a couple of links you may want to review so it helps you get
started.

Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Cluster

Hope it helps,

Thanks for your responses.
John,
I appreciate it.
As I mentioned earlier, I just wanted to understand and learn Exchange
2003
clustering. I neither have the hardware that matches HCL nor the budget to
buy them now.
I will post more questions as I continue to install them.
Thanks.

Nathan,
- Yes, you can build a cluster with "cooked-up hardware" though it likely
would not be fully supported...though it will usually work if you're just
trying to learn clustering.
- Enterprise edition O/S and Apps
- You could also consider virtual technologies like Virtual Server or
Vmware

John

Hello,
I am planning to install two node windows 2003 SP1 cluster on a test
environment. I have some basic questions:
.Can the cluster be installed on a cooked-up hardware (2 dell power
edge
blades and DELL power vault RAID storage connected according to Dell's
recommendations)?
.What other hardware/software resources should I take in to
consideration?
.If the above installation is not possible, any other test options to
install two node clusters?
It's only a test environment and not a production.
Thanks.
