Re: Simple Mirror Cluster

You want to consider MSCS combined with a third party replication
engine in place of shared storage. DoubleTake alone does replication
and system level monitoring but it does not do any application level
monitoring which is what a clustering solution typically does.

If you want to replicate to a passive server and provide automatic
failover upon a system level failure or an application level failure,
another alternative is LifeKeeper from SteelEye Technology. It
includes the clustering technology and replication technology all from
the same vendor.

hello! I'm very new to clustering and trying to figure out the way it
functions. Is it possible to create a perfect mirror between 2 servers?
I
want to have an exact replica so no matter if its files storage or
applications like SQL, they will be mirrored to the passive server
bit-by-bit. And obviously with auto failover. Is this possible? can
someone advise?
