If the port is inactive, have you looked at the switch? NICs will just show
up, you don't have to configure anything to add one.

I am installing MSCS 2003 on a W2K3 SP1 box. The first node went fine,
but the second node heartbeat nic's are hooked up to an inactive port
and are showing as not available.
As a result these are not showing up as available resources and will
not be managed. I can still finish the configuration of the node and
activate those ports and add the adapters to the cluster on Monday when
I am in the office, right?
If so, how does one add an adapter into an existing cluster setup? I
don't see Network Interface as an available resource type to add.
