Do both clusters have the same number of cluster resources? Which resources
seem to take the longest to go offline/online?
5 minutes for failover is not uncommon.

John

they are both HP Proliant DL380 G3 3ghz dual processor, 2GB RAM
The Disks are what are known as VDisks - they are created on a HP EVA 5000
cabinet, which contains 100 146GB Drives in each slot. Some HP Management
Software allows you to create a virtual disk and make them present to each
node.
the Servers also run Netbackup 5.1 MP2 - they are known as Media Servers.
With regards to the resources taking 5mins, it does seem excessive,
especially as another site has the same hardware and can move resources to
either node in 60 to 90 seconds.
So I know something is amiss here! If you have ANY help, suggestions,
advice, special links I can check, or procedures, that would help. I have
sort of inherited this cluster, but if I have to rebuilt it, or if you
of a way to do this, please let me know.you
Thank you Rodney, you were highly recommended to talk to as I understand
are the cluster God in the Microsoft world !Configuration?

5 minutes may be normal. What kind of hardware are you using?

Server has been rebooted more times than I can remember. Basically,
clustering users Data on one node and group data on another - approx

Any help Rodney

Is this every time or just after a full cluster reboot? What are you
clustering? So if you move from 1 to 2, then 2 to 1, and then 1 to 2

still 5 minutes?

When we 'Move Group' from node 1 to node 2 in our two node Windows
fromEnterprise cluster, it takes over 5 minutes. When we move group
makenode 2 back to node 1 it takes 15 seconds. Is there any way to
both moves equally fast?
