Actually I spoke with the vendor and they said I had to have a physical
drive for the quorum, however, they mentioned that even I only needed 1GB
for the quorum, there was impossible to get that size of hard drives in
the
market, therefore their best recommendation was to acquired a 73 GB hard
drives and a mirror card. That is what I did. Got and installed the card,
then built the 73 GB mirror (RAID 1) and then splittted in two partitions
(1
GB for the quorum and 72 GB for anything else). The second partition is
not
for my data, as mentioned at the beginning of this thread, I have two
other
mirror sets: one for my data and log files and the second one for my SQL
backups, this remaining 72 GB is only for miscellaneous but not
necessarily
for my data files.
Do you see any other way I should have configured the quorum under the
hardware scenario presented above?
Thanks. White.
If the smallest LUN that can be presented is a mirror of the smallest
physical disk, then that is what you should use.
Our storage team has started saying that because of EMC's newer drives and
architecture, the smallest LUN they can provide is now 8 GB.
