Russ,
How to explain myself properly so you can understand which the requirments
were?
MSCS was out of discussion. It was a MUST because they were clustering File
Server, Print Servers, SQL, etc...
But, besides that service, they wanted/required every single host in the
enterprise hold a FTP server were to put some information about 2 host jobs
(Job Scheduling & Backup).
This information was gathered from a cental mainframe.
The customer had been doing that for years in their environment (Mainframes,
UNix and OS/2 Lan Server) with more than 7000 servers...and the topic of FTP
in the hosts was out of discussion....If Microsoft wanted to introduce their
technology there (replacing OS/2) they/we should do wht they require.
