Antivirus Software May Cause Problems with Cluster Services?

In KB: "Antivirus Software May Cause Problems with Cluster Services"
(http://support.microsoft.com/kb/250355/) it says

"Even if you are not monitoring the shared disk, the filter drivers are
still loaded and may affect the operation of the cluster."

In KB: "Antivirus Software May Cause Problems with Cluster Services"

It make specific reference to Symantec filter driver (symevent.sys).
These KBs are relatively recent 8/29/2005 & 8/2/20005, respectively.

Here are Symantec KBs:

"Does Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition support Windows 2000 cluster
servers?"
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ent-security.nsf/9d94c8571a91ba4788256bf3007f62b5/461f5608ded0765d88256c84005ec0d2?OpenDocument&prod=Symantec%20AntiVirus%20Corporate%20Edition&ver=8.x&src=ent&pcode=sav_ce&dtype=corp&svy=&prev=&miniver=sav_8_ce

"Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition support for Windows 2003 cluster
servers"
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ent-security.nsf/9d94c8571a91ba4788256bf3007f62b5/ea0f9eb688b1318c88256db700767032?OpenDocument&prod=Symantec%20AntiVirus%20Corporate%20Edition&ver=8.x&src=ent&pcode=sav_ce&dtype=corp&svy=&prev=&miniver=sav_8_ce

They say Symantec AntiVirus 8.1 and greater is OK for clustering but
the problem is that this version came out prior to the MS KBs sited
earlier. This is the classic "he said she said".

Is there a rule of thumb or best practice regarding AntiVirus software
installed on MS clustering?
