Hi:
I have 2 Win 2003 Ent. File Server Active/Active clusters on a Disaster
recovery scenario. I'm using a third party app to replicate data from one
site to the other. The DR site cluster's File shares resources are offline
all the time. Only the IP, Name, Disk and Replication IP resources are
online all the time. The Local site FS cluster is working like a champ but
the DR cluster is the one giving me some grief.
My problem is that everytime I move any of my File Server virtual groups
from one node to the other the IP and Name will online but then offline
automatically. If I then online them manually they are kept online until I
move them from node again, which will cause the same issue. I don't know
what is the problem since the event viewer does not show any error messages
at all. I'm completely blind on this one. It seems odd since that it works
on the Local cluster and not on the remote one. I'm using different names
for the Clusters and Virtual Groups. The shares resources on both virtual fs
servers are the same as the ones on the Local site but are kept offline all
the time since I'm replicating data to their disks.
The problem is not the file share as one might think but the fact that I
cannot keep online the IP and Name of any of the virtual fs servers on the DR
cluster if they are failed over from node to node.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Edwin
