I am trying to use NLB for Sharepoint Portal Server 2003.
I have setup 2 windows 2003 Std. Ed. with 2 NICs on each (One for local IP
interface and the other for Cluster (virtual IP)).
Server1 NIC1 - 10.10.1.2
255.255.255.0
Server2 NIC2 - 10.10.1.3
255.255.255.0
Server1 NIC2 - 10.10.1.4 (cluster IP)
255.255.255.0
NLB is enalbed with the cluster IP as the above and dedicated IP:
10.10.1.2(priority 1)
Server2 NIC2 - 10.10.1.4 (cluster IP)
255.255.255.0
NLB is enalbed with the cluster IP as the above and dedicated IP:
10.10.1.3 (priority 2)
The problems I am running into is that the machine losses network
connectivity when I turn on NLB.
I can only ping the IPs that are assigned to local NIC, from other systems
in the network.
When I uncheck/disable the NLB, am able to ping to the cluster IP.
All these servers including other systems in the network are connected to a
dlink unmanaged 24 port Fast ethernet switch thorugh a Jack Panel. I have
also tried using cross over cables for NIC2 on both servers but of no use.
I strongly feel its something with the switch itself.
Please help me. I have stuck up here from quite a few days.
Thanks,
Paramesh
