Here is how I would recommend setting up your NLB Boxes:
Pubic NIC (NLB Bound)
Virtual IP Address and Subnet Mask only
NO gateway
NO DNS
Management NIC (NLB Not Bound)
Dedicated IP
Subnet Mask
Gateway
DNS
Mgmt NIC should be first in the network interfaces Binding order. This will configure NLB so traffic will come in the NLB NIC and exit the Mgmt NIC.
Crossover cables ARE NOT support with NLB. NLB does not work anything like a Server Cluster. Please review the following knowledge base articles:
