The DB will stay on online on the primary node Y while you install X.
Follow these steps:
1.) Uninstall SQL from node X
Run SQL setup on node Y
Enter the DB name for Virtual Server
Select "Advanced Options"
Select "Maintain a Virtual Server for Failover Clustering"
Enter the Virtual IP
Select node X and click "Remove" then next
2.) Evict Node X from the cluster
3.) Disjoin Node X from the Domain
4.) Install Node X
Make sure the system drive is same as before, if C: needs to be C: again
5.) Join to Domain
6.) Add Node X to cluster
7.) Install SQL on node X
Run SQL setup from Node Y
Enter the DB name for Virtual Server
Select "Advanced Options"
Select "Maintain a Virtual Server for Failover Clustering"
Enter the Virtual IP
Select node X and click "ADD" then next
