Thank you, Meinolf.
In addition, may I suggest that you *not* enforce password complexity, but
merely force long passwords/passphrases? It's better to have a long phrase
that is easy to remember
This is really a pretty good password!
than a collection of random 8-character stuff users will not remember, will
write down on sticky notes, and leave all over the place. Set a 15-character
minimum and explain to people that they can use spaces. I suggest song
titles as a good way to come up with long passphrases.

Hello Luiz,
That's the mimimum but better use at least 8 characters as a minimum.

Then I must set to 7 so that password change works fine?
Thanks again, Meinolf.

Hi Meinolf,
yes I set to 3 characters and the password doesn´t contain any
character of
the user´s name.
I tested removing the policy, disabling all choices, I mean, and
the password complexity is required yet.
Any clue?
Thanks, Meinolf.
Best Regards.

Hello Luiz,
Did you use the minimum amount of characters as listed there?
Also Passwords cannot contain the user's account name or parts
of the user's full name that exceed two consecutive characters.

Hi,
I need I help about the Password Complexity Requirements in
Windows
Server
2008 Active Directory environment, If anyone can help me I
appreciate:
- I have installed and configured a Windows 2008 AD and I have
Windows
XP
with SP3 as workstations.
The Password Complexity Policy is enabled in Default Domain
Policy but
when
I try to change an user password, logged on the machine, the
messaging
telling me that the password typed doesn´t fit with the policy
appears
to me,
though I type a strong password (example HGCsg5nT).
I run the gpresult command and the default domain policy is
being applyed.
Anyone already see that problem?
Thanks.
Luiz
