yep i agree as well, i wont know what is causing this issue until i talk
to support at datadomain, unfortunetly i am not the storage admin and i
dont have access to the device, so i am doing what i can from anADside
to try and figure this out. I am willing to detune SMB on one of the 2008
DC's but i want to make sure this setting doesnt negetively effect other
applications that are using Kerberos authentication like SQL. I assume
that Kerberos authentication will still function as normal, but when
making the change to SMB this will allow ntlm authentication as well, and
not prevent kerberos?
Many thanks
Disabling SMB signing allows legacy and non-Windows entities to authenticate
that do not support Kerberos. This will NOT stop Kerberos based clients,
which will continue to authenticate using Kerberos, whether this setting is
enabled or disabled.

Hi Ace,
We're encountering the same problem as listed above. After finding
this thread we verified that the SMB setting are configured as
recommended. We continue to have the problems with our authentications
to Data Domain being passed through.
I happen to be the Data Domain admin so I can attempt to answer some
questions about the config. In our environment we generally use a
wildcard "*" to allow the Data Domain Appliance to attach to whatever
DC it finds first. I've had numerous conversations with Data Domain
over the last couple of days and they simply say that "They don't
support 2008 DC's" and the OS that will is currently in Beta and might
be released by 3rd quarter. Hopefully if I can answer your questions
we can develop a work around to the problem.
Bill
