Hi
Does it happen at the same time, or different times of the day? During work hours or offhours? Only happens on remote networks, or locally as well? Do you have the correct and most updated frivers/firmware installed? When that happens, do you sse any errors on switches/routers, do you see the same amont of traffic passing through them? Does the cables pass for areas where heavy trucks or other equipments are running on top of them?

Thanks ACE for fast reply!
Well it is not as simple as that becasue it is sporadic, meaning that the connections do not always fail. Connections in this sense is GPOS/authentication. I suspect that is network related but it is very difficult to pinpoint when it doesnt occur all the time and on different machines. As for the DNS entries they are correct as well as MS_DS services.
I consistently have to scavenge through logs so I am thinking thier has to be a better way to trace the problem.
BTW, Win2k3 DCs/XP3 clients

server in an AD environment?

That would be more of less RPC connections and/or basic networking connections to a bad switch. I can't see any 'bottlenecks' occuring. What type of errors are you seeing? How many users, domain controllers, sites, GCs, etc, do you have? Also if you are seeing slowdowns, it can also be a result of simply using the wrong DNS servers in the DC's and client ip coniguration. A multihomed DC as well as a single label name domain can cause issues, too.
Maybe we can help if you let us know some more info, along with posting an unedited ipconfig /all from a couple of your DCs and from a client that you are h aving problems with, we can take a closer and more specific look to rule out basic configurations.
