You will need to attach to the other domain with your admin credentials, can you place the domain credentials from the one domain into the domain admins group of the other domain.

I have admin rights on both domains however different user names as they
both use different formats. Not sure how permissions are set as I did not
set this up buth there is a trust in place between both domains....?
