Think about rebuilding sysvol within your domain. Just use your first DC as the reference for files within sysvol:

Hello
I have inherited a site where I have frs issues. The site now has 2 dc's
when I took it over it only had one. Mainly the problem is that the frs
services start but have never confirmed starting completely and I now get the
usual events for servers not replicating to each other. Apart from frs not
working everything runs fine. Originally I have been told there was some kind
of failure when the original dc ran windows 2000 server and someone pressed
F8 and selected last known good configuration which stuffed everything at the
time. Since then the server was upgrade to 2003 and since it ran on its own
no one ever noticed any major problems apart from frs not actually confirming
it had started in the event logs. It lists an event for starting but not
being started. My thoughts are that the last known good config that ran way
back when, stuffed the security settings either in the registry or the
folders in sysvol. Both servers say they cant replicate with one another so
im wondering if there as anyway to make reset all the policies on my main
server and so its considered the master and starts replicating ? There arent
many policies on this network so i could recreate the policies quite easily.
As i said there are no issues with DS replication or DNS just FRS. Any help
is greatly appreciated
Thanks in advance
.
