Domain ADmin, then go to Computer Properties, Advanced, User
Profiles. Then copy the old one to the new user and set the
permissions to allow the user to use that profile. But this is not
guaranteed based on whatever the profile shortcuts, the permissions
on the My Docs, how My Docs was previously setup when the computers
were not joined, and other aspects. What I'm saying it is not 100%,
The Copy Profile thing has worked ok for me before,..but it is kind
of slow.
Yea, agreed. I don't like it either, but for 150 users or more, it's the
best you'll get. However for the 38 machines the poster has, I don't think
it's worth the time to configure it and get it working. I can finish all
38 machines way before someone puts together a PRF fully tested and ready
to go.
I meant the "Computer Properties, Advanced, User Profiles",..Then copy the
old one to the new one after the user logs in once to create the fresh empty
profile.
