I am setting up Windows XP Professional machine with SonicWall Global VPN
client.
VPN work fine.
User Log on to laptop as a domain user with cache credentials. Initiate VPN
link.
Laptop gets assigned the 10.1.10.x Ip address. I can ping any mchaine in the
LAN. I can browse any server. I can do "\\DC1\Netlogn". Everything seems to
be working.
But...The Login script that is assigned to each user to MAP their drives and
printers has a problem. It gets excuted but not without problem.
SonicWall GlobalVPN Client made the following calls:
NetWkstaUserGetInfo returned:user: username, logon domain:My Domain, logon
server: My Server(DC1)
NetGetDCName failed:Could not find domain controller for this domain.
calling NetUserGetInfo:Server: \\DC1, User: UserName, level: 3
NetUserGetInfo returned: home dir, remote dir: , logon scrip: username.vbs
Sometime Script will work fine and all drives will become available even
though I see the error in the line:
NetGetDCName failed:Could not find domain controller for this domain.
When It did not map the drives, I tried to ping the local lan computer from
the VPN Laptop. It seems to have hestation replying back to first ping then
goes ok.

When I tried Start->Run-> \\DC1 frist attempt it failed to resolve.
I tried again with \\10.1.10.20 it took sometime and I was able to see my
share along with NETLOGON Share and all the scripts.
I then tried again Start->Run-> \\DC1 and it was able to show me shares
I am on Verizon Broad band when I am doing VPN to my company network.
