the only *GOOD* reason of all is to isolate replication.

Hello,

What are the reasons for creating a new domain?
Why would I create a new domain instead of just creating a new OU?

Jut want to find out if I'm not sseing the whole picture.

Thanks

Some reasons to have more than one domain:

1. To isolate replication (perhaps you have slow links).
2. To support different password and lockout policies and you do not have Windows 2008 and don't plan to in the near future.
3. Two organizations are joined and they insist on manageing their IT infrastructures separately. In other word, politics.
4. You need to keep NT domains.

As a rule, you want to minimize the number of domains.
