Hello Chris,
You have to use the second disk from the R2 set and run it on the
existing DC with an account that is member of the schema admin group.
Schema version should be 31 if correct for 2003 R2, 2003 uses 30. You
can check it from a command prompt with "schupgr" without the quotes.
Best regards

Cannot add as child domain
Hi all
I am trying to join a Windows 2003 R2 SE SP1 machine to an existing
Domain Controller which is running Windows 2003 Enterprise SP1 as
child domain, however it is not allowing me to do so. Its prompting
to run adprep.
I went on domain controller and have run adprep /forestPrep and
adprep /domainPrep but it runs very quickly and it doesnt seem to
solve my problem as once again it wont allow me to create child
domain.
I am sure I am missing something here...would appreciate your help.
Thanks
C White
