My hunch is you are not using the correct cd when you ran adprep, you should use disk 2.

I am having windows 2000(standard edition) domain controller , iam tryingto
uprade my domain controller from windows 2000 to windwos 2003 enterprise
edition. iam facing error message.
I am trying to upgrade windows 2003 by adding additonal domain controller to
my exisinting windows 2000 domain controller, while the proccess is happening
i get an error message
"The Active Directory Installation Wizard cannot continue because the forest
is not prepared for installing Windows Server 2003. Use the Adprep
command-line tool to prepare both the forest and the domain. For more
information about using the Adprep, see Active Directory Help.
The version of the Active Directory schema of the source forest is not
compatible with the version of Active Directory on this computer."
can some one telll me am i going right way or is there any solution for the
above mentione error message.
what should i do on my exisiting windows 2000 domain controller & what
should i do my new windows 2003 server
Need all ur valuable tips, how to procced this upgrade sucessfully
