Re: join computer to domain

Hi Meinolf,
How long did you wait after deleting? right after I deleted the computer
account , I rebooted and joined the computer to the domain again . I didn't
think it would matter because AD is mutimaster replication, USN and lastest
timestamp changes wins ... Do I need to wait for deleted acount to be
replicated to all AD sites before I can add the computer to the domain ? All
my AD sites replicated is set for every 3 hour...

Hello southpaw,

How long did you wait after deleting? Did you check that it was replicated
to other DC's? Check your replication with repadmin /showrepl on the DC's.
Also you can use replmon to check.

Hi All.
I removed a computer from domain (disjoin) and delete the computer
account.
Then when I add the computer back to the doamin with the same computer
name
and reboot I am unable to logon. error message (The system cannot log
you
on due to the following error: The specified domain either does not
exist or
could not be contacted.") . I then checked the ADUC and didn't find
the
computername appears that its being deleted for some reason perhaps
due to
replication
from the othere sites. However if I manually add the computer name and
join
the domain it seems to be fine..
BTW.. If i disjoin and add the computer back to the doamin with a
different computer name I don't have this problem. Its seems that only
if I use the same computer name is when I have this problem.

Any help would certainly be appreciated
