Unfortunately, the domain controller failed during the rename! This was a
very unlucky situation.
The DC is getting the following errors:
Application:
Source: Userenv; ID: 1006
Windows cannot bind to wtg.com domain. (Local Error). Group Policy
processing aborted.
Source: Userenv; ID: 1030
Windows cannot query for the list of Group Policy objects. Check the event
log for possible messages previously logged by the policy engine that
describes the reason for this.
System:
Source: Netlogon; ID: 5774
The dynamic registration of the DNS record
'_kerberos._tcp.Moonachie._sites.wtg.com. 600 IN SRV 0 100 88
WTGDC01.centralholidays.com.' failed on the following DNS server:
DNS server IP address: 154.15.251.166
Returned Response Code (RCODE): 5
Returned Status Code: 9017
I'm not sure where that DNS server IP is coming from. Its not one of ours.
Additionally, its still trying to register to wtg.com. I'm not sure why.

I took care of the network card, and the 169.254 IP was not
registered in DNS. However, I cannot remove the failing domain
controller, due to the rename operation! The error is as follows:
DsRemoveDsServerW error 0x21a4(The Directory Service cannot perform
the requested operation because a domain rename operation is in
progress.)
Hmm, this may complicate it. Sounds like the failed DC would have have
needed to be removed prior to the rename. What event log errors do you see?
Post the eventID# and soruce, please.
