Re: adding a group to local computer

It happens regardless of which group I add.

As far as group policy, I was looking through the group policy settings last
week but did not change anything...I have not made any changes to group
policy since last year.

Any ideas? thanks for your help everybody

Normally restricted groups can take up to an hour to clear out local group
settings. This doesn't sound like a restricted group issue but I could be
wrong. Try adding another user or group and see if you get the same experience.

I think you are asking for trouble including everyone in the local admins
group.

Hello Bill,

Check your group policies in the domain for the "Restricted groups",
if they are configured they take precedence over the local setting you
make on every refresh interval.

BTW, why must all your domain users be local admin? Normally that is
not needed and will create a lot of unwanted
problems/software/viruses/spyware etc. in your domain.

Hey,
In WinXP, I used to be able to add the Domain Users group as a local
administrator or Power User so that everyone who logged on to that PC
would
have local rights.
All of a sudden, now for some reason, after I add the Domain Users
group and log out it dissapears. I don't get any errors when I add
the group - everything looks normal, but next time someone logs on
its
gone. Any ideas???
