adding a group to local computer

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Hey,
In WinXP, I used to be able to add the Domain Users group as a local
administrator or Power User so that everyone who logged on to that PC would
have local rights.

All of a sudden, now for some reason, after I add the Domain Users group and
log out it dissapears. I don't get any errors when I add the group -
everything looks normal, but next time someone logs on its gone. Any
ideas???

stumped in NY
