I think we did mention it, but to run dcdiag and netdiag, of which none (I
thought dcdiag would of) reported this particular issue.
Anyhow, thanks for all the ideas, hope this helps someone else out.

OK, if anyone reads this then heres the fix.
The existing domain controller in the same site had a journal wrap
error with sysvol. After fixing this error, demoting the second DC
then re-promoting it it's all working, sysvol and netlogon are shared.

have changed the name, IP address and disable teaming on the host OS,
giving the virtual DC it's own NIC.
Still the same issue persists after dcpromo and numerous netdoag/fix,
dcdiag/fix etc etc.
I appreciate all the help, I'm sure it has something to do with it
being a virtual machine and using the hosts name for DSgetDCName and
not it's won somehow.

Can you do the following on uksccmads01
netdiag /fix
ipconfig /registerdns
The problem may actually have nothing to do with the new server
but the current server uksccmads01. Once the above is done
re-run dcdiag to see if the error goes away.

You should run dnslint on uksccmads01. Uksccmads02 doesn't
even know about uksccmads01.
What do you get when you do an nslookup on the following:

I would specifically check the dns server inquired from where
the dcdiag test was run.
From a command prompt try and see if you get any additional
info dnslint /ad /s "ip address of your dc"

nslookup rom both servers looks fine, both have A and
Pointer recors in DNS with the correct IP's.

Hi there, a newly promotoed win2k domain controller
(which is a
virtual machine running under virtual server 2005
sp1.
This is the
second time I've promoted the server and the second
time
I am
receiving these errors.
Any ideas anyone?

having a

I'm at a loss, no SYSVOL shares are showing and this
is
the only
test
that DCDIAG fails on.
