Ok, Got i little further:

I removed the User profile and recreated it.
Now when i run dsa.msc it opens the Users and Computers but if i go to
a
user group and try and open the members tab i get a error saying that
the
global catalogue could not be contacted.

Hello TheWall,

The OS is not that important for this, because clients and also
different server versions have this event id's, when something goes
wrong.

quite a lot of links there...

The server platform is Win 2K3 Enterprise. That eliminate a few of
the Links?? or should i check them anyway?

Hello TheWall,

I think you have to solve first the 1006 and 1030 errors. Start
here for

them, even if 10598 is also stated:

Contact your system administrator to verify that your domain is
properly
configured and is online.
