logon script from profile tab not working

I have a vbs logon script that works when you run it, however it will not run
from the logon script field on the profile tab in AD. I've even written a
simple one with MsgBox "logon script working!" and that doesn't work either.
path is
\\DCserverName\netlogon\testLogon.vbs

Why isn't it working? I don't have any gpo's keeping it from running.
