Server 2003, DNS, Birch Telecom T1

We have a 5 user Server 2003 network with Birch Telecom providing the DHCP.
The current configuration is with XP PRO workstations that pull their DNS
settings from the Birch Telecom network interface.

We are having an Autoenrollement error 15. If I point the DNS to the
Server's DNS, I cannot even login. If I let the automatic DNS settings from
the Birch Telecom network interface apply, I can login but it is SLOW.

Someone suggested that we need two NICS, 1 for the internet and 1 for the
internal network. I looked through best practices but found no mention of
this.

How can I clear up the error and speed up the login process?
