Re: workstations & server times

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

Hello param@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx,

The PDCEmulator is the domain time source, that you can configure with an external time server:

PDCEmulator:

w32tm /config /manualpeerlist:peers /syncfromflags:manual /reliable:yes /update

With "peers" you can set the time source, either DNS name (time.windows.com) or an ip address from a reliable time source.

Here you can find some of them:
http://www.pool.ntp.org/

All DC's sync with the PDCEmulator and the member servers and workstations sync with an available DC, mostly that one in their site.

Best regards

Hi all,

Is it possible to configure all member workstations & servers in our
domain to sync their date/time with a central server? We have 2 DCs
and either one would be OK We also have an ISA server on our network.
So would we have to open up any firewall permissions?

Any articles on how to do this would be greatly appreciated.

TIA!
