I assume you were using a NON-default domain account? (not the default domain administrator)

is there a requirement for a global catalog when logging into a 'PDC'?
I had a general maintenance schedule whereby the entire data center had to power down

when bringing servers back online I could not log in into the operations master/RID/PDC until a GC was started
or do I have to find the issue elsewhere?

this is a windows 2003 native environment by the way but I hope you know what I mean when using the old term PDC

thnx

indeed, I never use this account for anything
