You should be able to just remove any of the skb.com records w/o any.
problems. Remove these and run your test again.

I have seen the skb.com hostmaster records in th existence edomain name
(sk.com) showing as "(same as parent folder) SOA records of (2658),
skbsdc.sk.com., hostmaster.skb.com".
Likewise _msdcs.sk.com also. how can i re-create soa records for sk.com
hostmaster without distrub the production dns server. how to rebuild the
dns
zones.
Clarify me.

Well it isn't clear what is happening. You could go and rebuild your srv
zones. This would require you to delete them and allow Microsoft to go
back
and rebuild them.
Before you consider this, lets have you browse through the following dns
zones and see if you can find any references to the skb.com domain. Look
through all of the zones and verify there is no reference to skb.com. In
particular you need to review the forest zone, since this is where the
error
appears to be coming from.
_msdcs.sk.com
_sites.sk.com
_tcp.sk.com
_udp.sk.com
DomainDnsZones.sk.com
ForestDnsZones.sk.com
If you see any other service zones, detail that in your response.

Hi
There was one hostmaster record in the name of skb.com in the dns
server
entries. but i deleted manually i hope. In client side only current
dc
is
listing.
"Paul Bergson [MVP-DS]" wrote:
How did you change the name? I am confused on what you did. If
you
could
elaborate from start to finish resolving this might be easier.
To run a complete system of dns tests against all dc's in your AD
environment
Dcdiag /test:DNS /v /e /s:DC_Name /f:c:\dnstest.txt
dnslint /ad /s "ip address of your dc"

Hi
Site: Windows 2003 SP2 DC, DNS, DHCP
Client : Win XP SP2
i was configured dns server in the dc & afterward due to some
reason
i
had
changed the DC name. (Like from skb.com to sk.com).So i promoted
the
DC
&
its
working fine with all components.
But i got repeated error in DNS server eventvwr as:
"The DNS server was unable to open zone _msdcs.SKB.COM in the
Active
Directory from the application directory partition
ForestDnsZones.SKB.COM.
This DNS server is configured to obtain and use information from
the
directory for this zone and is unable to load the zone without
it.
Check
that
the Active Directory is functioning properly and reload the zone.
The
event
data is the error code."
i am not using the skb.com dns server right now.
How can i solve? the Event ID is : 4007
