Re: Redirecting the users and computers containers in Windows Serv

That's what I thought, it doesn't work that way. If you create users in
AD U&C, they will be created in whatever OU or container you
right-clicked on and created them in. The redirection mechanism is
there to support legacy tehcnologies such as the Net* APIs, e.g. -

C:\> net user deano Password1 /add /domain

are
you using to create the users, or perhaps you're using 'Active

Yes, am the one creating the users for now in my test environment.
Later it's
going to be a designated user.

How are you creating the users that are NOT being redirected?

Hi,

I did get this error message....C:\>redirusr
OU=usersou,DC=company,DC=com
Error, unable to modify the wellKnownObjects attribute. Verify
that
the
domain functional level of the domain is at least Windows Server
2003:
Unwilling To Perform Redirection was NOT successful....

I change my functional level to 2003 and was successfull after
with
the
command.

Any idear why it's not redirecting to my new OU???

Do you mean that you redirected the CN=Users container to
another
OU?
To do
this, you need to run the Redirusr.exe command - have a look at
the
following
KB for detailed instructions:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/324949

If you did run the tool already, did you receive any of the
error
messages
that are listed in the previously mentioned KB?

a new
