Removing Domain Controler

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

I have a network with both 2003 and 2000 servers. In the Active Directory mmc tree my Domain Controler container shows four servers one of which does not exist. The server is not pingable by the name shown in mmc. I started the process to remove the server using ntdsutil. In ntdsutil when I list the domain controler servers a different server is listed (which is an active server) but the nonexistant server is not listed.

How can I remove the nonexistant server from the AD mmc tree? How do I get the ntdsutil listed server to show up in mmc?

Thanks
Chuck
