Hi,I've not used Sonar I'm afraid.
I'm having trouble figuring out how to use Microsoft Ultrasound and
Sonar to do health checks on my AD environment and for
troubleshooting. Does anyone have any good links to good
documentation? Thanks.
There isn't really much by way of Ultrasound documentation around other than
the included help file. The help file goes into detail on various aspects of
FRS and Ultrasound, but admittedly isn't really structured for anyone new to
the software:(
A document which you should definitely read is the Ultrasound FAQ at:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2003/techinfo/overview/ultrasoundfaq.mspx
To get any real benefit out of Ultrasound you really need some familiarity
with FRS.
A good starting document is "How FRS works" at
http://technet2.microsoft.com/WindowsServer/en/library/7636aede-a944-4765-8973-40dc1e1f2d561033.mspx?mfr=true
A newsgroup more suited for Ultrasound and FRS specific queries is
Microsoft.public.windows.server.dfs_frs.
If you have any specific queries on Ultrasound I'd be happy to help out if I
can. I've used it in my environment for about 18 months now. It does have
some bugs and the odd shortcoming, and is rather in need of a overhaul by
MSFT... hint hint :)
