Re: Multi-Domain consolidation

I do not know what you have been reading so can't comment on what I would
think is the best options, so I will state my choice of how to proceed.

I would establish one of the three as my forest as the future of the three.
I wouldn't necessarily choose the one with the most objects, but the one
that has been well maintained and current. Windows 2003 FFL comes to mind
as well as Exchange 2007.

Once I had established that I would look to create trusts between the
different forests in preparation for a migration into this forest, using
ADMT. While you are migrating users they should be able to use resources no
matter which forest\domain their user object resides in. I would think the
biggest pain is the Exchange piece since the you can't use alternate domain
names while the old domains are still up and running.

I currently have three seperate domains at three seperate companies that
host
everything local to their respective sites e.g. mail, DNS, DHCP, AD etc.

I have been reading everywhere lots of contradicting information in order
to
consolidate all three sites with minimal disruption in order o have access
availbel to all users regardless of which site they are at.

The three sites also have a remote location and ideally we would like to
centralise all essential services to our HQ and have a DR site available
at
our second biggest site.

Can someone please point me in the right direction for the best practises
in
order to do this succesfully.

We are currently connected via an MPLS and with 2 of the sites connected
with 2mb Leased line connectivity.

All environments are running servers with win 2003 r2 some with Exchange
server 2007 on 64bit machines.

thank you in advance for any help guidance you can provide.
